Another Dimension

I rendered this image as a kaleidoscope.  At first, with a white background, it looked rather ordinary, but by changing the background to black, the image suddenly became almost 3-dimensional.  I like it very much.

Raptor Redux

Probably one of the most intricate and complex images I have worked on.  It is the diatom Entomoneis [it may be a new species]

Another Version

I am trying to decide which version of this image I like better.  I am inclined to like this better than the earlier version because more details are visible.  It is the dinoflagellate genus Gonyaulax.

An Exciting Announcement!

I am happy [thrilled] to announce that the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, PA, [http://www.ansp.org/] has asked me/us to create an exhibit to be shown there late this summer.  The dates are August 7 to October 31.  We will be exhibiting 24 images of the colorized diatom/dinoflagellates that you often view here on this Blog.  What an honor.  It will be hard deciding which images to include in our selection of 24.  As of today, we don't have a title for the exhibition yet, but will announce it as soon as we do.
I'll keep posting about this as time goes on.

New Feature

One of my favorite images, 'EarsnNose', was just selected as a feature in RedBubble's Underwater Creatures category. Especially nice to be seen by so many, and recognized as a Featured Member too.  [the diatom genus Triceratium]
